QUARTERBACKS

Anthony Coellner, Carmel, Jr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 195-pound Coellner was one of the most intriguing young quarterbacks in the state last year as he completed 56.1% of his passes for 937 yards and eight touchdowns with 11 interceptions. The dual-threat Coellner also ran for 298 yards and two TDs. He has several offers, including Cincinnati, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, West Virginia and others.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “So, I’m a big Drake fan and love all his music but recently think Kendrick won (the most recent rap battle), so I’m going to say Kendrick for the people out there. I’m going to jump on the bandwagon.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I want to say accuracy. I think accuracy will be one of my higher (attributes) out there. Or I would say agility is probably up there. I’m hoping agility is right about 86 and accuracy I think they’ll hook me up and give me a 91 or something like that.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I actually just watched the Michael Jordan documentary (“The Last Dance”). I know my parents are going to be mad (I didn’t watch it earlier) but I didn’t watch it when it first came out. I went back and watched it. It’s a great show.

Why do you wear No. 5? “I wore No. 5 growing up throughout when I was a kid. Then I switched in eighth grade to 12. Then I wore 12 for a little bit and switched back to 5. Really no reason. I should probably think of one, but I just wear it because I like the number.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I eat whatever my mom makes after practice but if they let me go out and I would probably get Chipotle with my receivers and linemen.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He was yelling a lot today. Shout out coach Hebert, though. He’s my guy. But I would say, ‘It’s all about mental toughness.’ He says that a lot, so I really take that to heart.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (1)

Devin Craig, Lapel, Jr.

2023 stats: The 6-1, 165-pound Craig had a big season in his first year as a starter as a freshman, then put up monster numbers as a sophom*ore as he completed 66.4% of his passes for 2,777 yards and 31 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He already has 4,337 passing yards and 40 passing TDs for his career.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Probably Kendrick Lamar. I think he won (the battle).”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Probably pass accuracy. Probably like a 92.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I just finished 'Rick and Morty'. Pretty good. He’s like a scientist and they go on a bunch of adventures.”

Why do you wear No. 11? “Not really. I wore No. 1 in middle school. I wore 11 in like peewee football. We don’t have a 1 in high school, so I just went back to 11.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Usually whatever my mom makes for dinner and a water. Chicken and noodles is probably (her best meal).”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “Whenever the line has a good block, like the whole line, he tells them they look sexy (laughs).”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (2)

Dallas Freeman, Greenfield-Central, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 180-pound Freeman, who has an offer from St. Francis, completed 62.1% of his passes for 1,444 yards and 19 touchdowns with eight interceptions as a junior. He was also a threat on the ground with 761 rushing yards and eight TDs. Overall, he has 2,342 passing yards and 27 TDs and 918 rushing yards and 10 rushing TDs.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’m going to have to go with Kendrick after everything.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I’m going to say like field vision. I can’t be greedy. I’m going say like an 85 is reasonable. I’ve played a couple games. I like it.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Definitely the ‘Vikings’ a series on Netflix. It’s nice. It’s action-packed. Once you start, you gotta finish it.”

Why do you wear No. 15? “I wear No. 15 because Patrick Mahomes was getting right into his era and everything. I saw (he wore 15), and I was like, ‘Well, I can kind of relate to some of the things he does.’ He’s dual threat and gets out of the pocket and game-wise that’s who I kind of idolize.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Probably whatever my mom cooks. I just come home and be like, ‘What’s for dinner?’ and it’s usually out. Her chicken alfredo is good. When I come home and smell that I’m glad practice is over and I’m ready to sit down and eat some chicken alfredo.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “There’s so many but probably just throw his hat down. That’s what he does a lot. He’ll just take his hat off and throw it on the ground. As soon as the hat hits the ground, I know somebody is getting an earful. Sometimes it’ll be me, but I try to stay away from it. Sometimes I’ll see something on a route he doesn’t see. I’ll say, ‘Well, I saw this’ and he’ll say, ‘Well, I saw this.’ And I’m like, ‘You got it.’”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (3)

Maverick Geske, Brebeuf Jesuit, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-foot, 190-pound Geske completed 62.2% of his passes as a junior for 3,084 yards and 40 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, setting single-season records for yards and TDs. Overall, in two-plus seasons, Geske has thrown for 4,865 yards and 64 TDs. He has offers from Butler, Gardner-Webb, Tiffin and UIndy.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’m going to Drake. I like Drake a little better.

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I’d say my accuracy. I’d put it all the way up at 99.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I liked ‘Succession’ on HBO Max. It’s a good show.”

Why do you wear No. 14? “It was my dad’s number in high school and college and around the family in it’s in a lot of our passwords. It’s kind of a family number.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “If it’s open, I’m going to Jersey Mikes. No. 8 Mike’s way. That’s the best option. But my mom’s a good cook.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “I can do a thousand impressions of him (his father, Matt Geske, is the Brebeuf coach), but in practice he’s a big ‘Eyes up!’ guy. If you don’t have eye contact, you are getting called out for sure. It’s usually just one time and everybody’s looking up. But if he catches you, you are getting hit with it.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (4)

Bo Polston, Decatur Central, Jr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 200-pound Toledo recruit completed 53.3% of his passes as a sophom*ore for 1,614 yards and 19 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Polston also rushed for 460 yards and six TDs. In his two years as a starter, he has 3,297 passing yards and 34 passing TDs and 807 rushing yards and nine rushing TDs.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Kendrick Lamar by far. Hands down, Kendrick Lamar. Just his flow, his demeanor when it comes rap. You listen to everything he’s saying and everything’s true.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I would say my throw power. I’m going to give myself a 99. I can make any throw on the field in my opinion. Throwing power (at least as a freshman). Everything else might be a 70.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Probably the show ‘Receiver’ on Netflix because I was a real big fan of the ‘Quarterback’ series that came out and just learning behind the scenes of other positions I really care about is cool, too. My favorite quarterback from the (‘Quarterback’) show is Patrick Mahomes. But the quarterback I actually study is Justin Herbert. To me that’s the best quarterback in the league in my opinion and that’s who I try to put my game after.”

Why do you wear No. 12? “My family. My dad was No. 12, my grandpa was No. 12. It’s been the number I’ve been since I was a little kid and I’m just sticking with it.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Really depends. Cereal. Cinnamon Toast Crunch.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “‘1-0 everyday mindset.’ He clenches his eyes, turns his visor all the way around and it’s, ‘1-0 everyday mindset.’ That’s what he says all the time. When stuff gets serious, the visor goes backwards. That’s how you know when to lock it in. When the visor is forward, you can have a little fun and chill with him. But when that visor is backward it’s go time.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (5)

Nevan Tutterow, Franklin Central, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 195-pound Tutterow completed 55.3% of his passes for 1,949 yards and 15 passing touchdowns with 14 interceptions as a junior. In his three seasons for the Flashes, Tutterow has 4,461 passing yards and 30 passing TDs. He has offers from Butler and Kentucky Wesleyan.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I would say probably Kendrick Lamar. I don’t like Drake. I’ve always liked Kendrick. Kendrick just seems like a cool dude. He seems like he has his stuff together and just seems like a cool dude. Drake is just all over the place.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I would say probably my accuracy. My accuracy or probably my elusiveness. I’m pretty good at avoiding sacks and making people miss. I don’t even care (about the number). Hopefully in the 90s.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “It wasn’t super recently but the ‘Quarterback’ show on Netflix. I really liked that and now the ‘Receiver’ one is out too. I really liked those two (shows). I forget the movie, but it was a bank robber movie, I think it was called ‘The Vault,’ and they had to break in, and it was like super advanced high tech security systems. It was on Netflix, and they use some nerdy guy, and he was able to work his way into the vault and do all that stuff. I was just a really good movie. (On the ‘Quarterback’ show) I’m a big (Patrick) Mahomes’ fan so naturally I’m going to root for Mahomes, but my mom really liked Kirk Cousins and I really liked Cousins, too. I just kind of a got a perception of what they do and a day in their life. Kirk Cousins definitely surprised me.”

Why do you wear No. 11? “Probably just because it rhymes with my name. Nevan 11. I used to wear 7 growing up my whole life. But Hudauri (Hines) at our school (now a freshman at Purdue) has worn 7 since I got into high school. So naturally 11 was kind of the other one that rhymed with my name, so I just stuck with it. I just like the number. And I actually found out not too long ago that my dad wore No. 11 in high school in baseball.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Chicken parm. I will eat it three days a week, every day, whatever. It is the greatest thing ever. Chicken parm with some spaghetti on the side. I’ve kind of learned how to make it now, too. So that comes in handy like when (my mom is) at work I can make it at home. You can never go wrong with chicken parm.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “Coach (Jayson) West is a character. He’s one of the funniest dudes I’ve ever met. One of the most common saying he has is, ‘What the best do is different from what the rest do.’ He says that about every day and we have really applied that this offseason. That’s kind of what he does and kind of symbolizes him for me. He’s got like 800 sayings. I could probably rattle off 10 of them right now but I’ll save you all the trouble.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (6)

Chandler Weston, Hamilton Southeastern, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-1, 175-pound Weston had a successful first season as a starter as he completed 58.6% of his passes for 1,415 yards and 18 touchdowns with five interceptions. He also proved to be an adept runner as he carried for 295 yards and four rushing TDs.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Overall, I’d say Drake but in that rap beef I’d say Kendrick won that.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I’ve been grinding. I’d say my throwing accuracy on the run. I’d be like a 97. I’ve been playing ‘Road to Glory’ (on the game). My player is already a 99 so I’ve been grinding.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I actually just went to the movies and saw that ‘Despicable Me 4’ movie. It was pretty good. It was funny and goofy.”

Why do you wear No. 7? “It’s really my aunt’s lucky number and she passed away, so I wore it ever since she passed away.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Usually after football practice I like to drive to Chipotle and get a bowl or burrito and get double chicken and rice, all that stuff.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “My coach is not about cussing so he always says ‘Judas Priest’ or stuff like that. He makes us all laugh whenever he gets angry and says stuff like that.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (7)

Jackson Willis, Lutheran, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 190-pound left-hander completed 66.3% of his passes for 2,555 yards and 31 touchdowns with three interceptions as a junior for Lutheran, leading the Saints to a 13-0 record and third consecutive Class A state title. Willis, who is uncommitted for college, has 6,782 passing yards and 86 passing TDs and 213 rushing yards and five rushing TDs for his career. Willis is 28-0 as a starter.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Drake. I like Kendrick, but I don’t know, (Drake) is just my preference.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Improvising, probably, if you consider that an attribute. I can pretty much do everything, in my opinion. If given the chance, I can make something happen, so probably improvising, I guess. I’ve played (the game) a lot, a lot more than I should have. But it actually kind of helps with the (actual) game, too, and seeing stuff you don’t really see when you’re playing. People are always like, ‘(Video) games aren’t good.’ But I’ve definitely seen some help with that. I’ve never really played that much but it’s fun.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I don’t really watch a lot of TV. Probably a show would be ‘Blue Mountain State.’ You heard of that? It’s kind of old but it seems to be really popular now.”

Why do you wear No. 10? “So, my dad, he wore it in college. He wore No. 10. So that’s probably just growing up, seeing him in 10, that’s kind of what I decided to pick. I was always No. 6 before high school (his dad played at Rose-Hulman).”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Anything I can get my hands on really. I drive a half hour to school every day. I live down next to Indian Creek, actually. So, there’s a lot of places to eat on the way home. My mom always gets mad at me spending all of her money on food. But probably the first thing is chocolate milk. I know it’s not really food, but it’s good. We don’t really eat at home too much because with three siblings were all literally always gone. But I like when she makes cheeseburgers and stuff like that. Pasta. Spaghetti. Any type of pasta.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He’ll spit. Whenever he doesn’t want to say something or maybe feels like he shouldn’t be saying it, he’ll spit. He’ll start spitting. It’s like a habit. That’s when he starts getting agitated like if we run a play wrong or something. Hands on his hips, spitting everywhere, looking at everybody. That’s how you know he’s in a zone. He’s ready to go.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (8)

OFFENSIVE LINE

Cameron Gorin, Hamilton Southeastern, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-5, 265-pound Purdue commit was a big part of an offense last year that averaged 314 yards of offense per game, including more than 200 on the ground as the Royals finished 9-3 and won a Class 6A sectional title. Gorin, ranked as the No. 8 in-state prospect by 247Sports, picked Purdue, where his father Brandon played before going to the NFL and winning two Super Bowls.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I think recently Kendrick had him but I’m more of a Drake guy. He’s got all kinds of genres of music, so I like him more.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “It might be my awareness or maybe like my speed. I’m pretty athletic. Freshman year, maybe in the 60s. I’ll be honest.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I watched the new ‘Planet of the Apes’ in the movie theater. That was pretty good.”

Why do you wear No. 75? “My pops wore No. 76 his whole career. I didn’t want to be the same number as him because I didn’t want to do that. So, 70s always looks sleek on a lineman. You can’t wear 60s as a tackle so 75 was about the only one left when I was a sophom*ore.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “It depends. Sometimes we go as a team to Chipotle. We always go there after practice. They should sponsor us, too. Or whatever my mom is making at home. Whatever she’s making I’ll eat. At Chipotle I usually get a bowl of white rice, double chicken, black beans, corn salsa, queso and then cheese and lettuce.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He never cusses so he’ll be saying like ‘Frick’ or ‘Dagnabbit.’ … He just says anything that’s not a curse word. He says ‘Frick’ probably 100 times a practice.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (9)

Cameron Herron, Warren Central, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 275-pound Herron is certainly one of the strongest players in the state and will anchor an offensive line that should pave the way for the Warriors to put up better offensive numbers this season. Herron committed to Iowa over Cincinnati, Northwestern and many other offers.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’m going to say Kendrick Lamar. They did a lot of research on Drake, and he really stole a lot of his songs. Old school songs he stole. So, I’m going to say Drake. I’m not really a fan (of Kendrick Lamar) but after listening to his one song, ‘Not like Us,’ I’m not going to lie – he went crazy.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “My speed. My speed is something different. Y’all will see it soon. I’m going to be a 99.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I think I might have to go the ‘Dave Chappelle Show.’ I was just watching that.”

Why do you wear No. 58? “I changed it because it was one of my coach’s numbers. I just really liked 58 after that. It was nothing really behind it. I just really liked the number.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “First thing I eat is either fast food or a home cooked meal. I eat a lot. My favorite thing to get is Guadalajara on the Eastside. It’s a Mexican restaurant that is really good.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He does a lot. It’s like a running joke when he rubs his head the weather changes. It’s raining outside and maybe not have practice or it’s thundering, then it stops.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (10)

Evan Parker, Carmel, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 295-pound Parker was one of the earliest commitments for new coach Curt Cignetti at Indiana, picking the Hoosiers in February. The three-star prospect is one of the leaders of a Carmel offense expected to be much improved for the 2024 season.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I gotta go Kendrick. His lyrics are just insane. I’m thinking like, ‘Whoa, did he really say that?’ I think Kendrick is the only answer.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I think physically I would say my run game or pass game, just things like that. But on a mental level, just my leadership. The ability to corral guys together with one common goal. I think that’s a really big improvement of mine. I’ve worked on that for the last couple years. I got the early release (for the game). It’s unbelievable. That’s what I’ve been playing all summer.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Film. I don’t watch a whole lot of TV, I’ll be honest. I’m just watching that film on my phone. Another good show would be ‘Batman’ – it’s a movie, but that’s a pretty good movie in my opinion. One of my favorites. I watch opponents (on film), or (people I want to watch) to improve. Like Quenton Nelson is a big one for me. Trent Williams. Guys like that. And obviously I watch myself to make sure I’m staying on my game.”

Why do you wear No. 66? “I’ll be honest: this is the only jersey that fit me freshman year and I just rocked it so far. I’ve worn 71, 79, 54 before. Fifty four was probably the coolest number for me because that’s what my dad wore. Other than that, I’m just ready to play. I don’t really care about the color or the jersey size, I’m just ready to play. Give me some shoulder pads and cleats, I’ll be good.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Rice and chicken is a go to for me. Pedialyte. Bananas and pickle juice is a good one for cramps. But if I’m going to have a cheat day, I’ll make up some of those Aunt Jemima pancakes and I’ll just feast on those for sure. Not very many (cheat days). I was 330 my freshman year and that was way too overweight, so I cut down to about 305 or 310 so I try to maintain that.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “I’m terrible at impressions but he does say, ‘All in’ a lot so that’s really big to us because, ‘All in’ means that every single day, every last guy on our team is making sure they are locked in and they are doing their most and giving 100 percent effort and making sure they are doing the right thing at all times. Another thing he says is ‘Deep water’, which is playing like you are in deep water, like you are drowning and have to survive. You gotta make sure you don’t drown. … You gotta climb out of the adversity. But everything he says is gold. I could be here for hours and talk about coach Hebert and what he says.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (11)

Ozzy Pollard, Carmel, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 280-pound Pollard will play some tight end, some offensive tackle and some defensive line for Carmel as a senior. The son of former Pacer Scot Pollard caught 16 passes for 137 yards and two TDs as a tight end last season. He has offers from Indiana and several Mid-American Conference programs, including Ball State, Toledo, Akron and Kent State.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Probably Kendrick. I like his lyrics a little bit more.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I’m going to be the best coach. I haven’t gotten it yet, but I’ll definitely be the best coach out there.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I haven’t watched too many shows but movies I recently watched ‘Silence of the Lambs.’ That’s pretty good. Recommended by my dad.”

Why do you wear No. 85? “I just kind of chose it. The coaches for Carmel were kind of like, ‘We’d like you to play tight end’ and just kind of chose 85. It kind of just stuck. Now I’m playing D-line and O-line so I’m probably going to have a couple different numbers this year. Three positions and a couple different numbers but 85 is my main one.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I don’t have a go to, but my stepmom is a great cook so it’s something great every time. Love steak. Probably my favorite food. Burgers as well.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “What he says a lot is, ‘Stay up!’ We’re getting each other on the ground once in a while and he got pretty mad at practice today but he’s always saying, ‘Stay up!’”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (12)

Avery Huggins, Westfield, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 280-pound Huggins committed to Cornell over offers from several Mid-American Conference programs. Huggins was part of the most prolific offenses in the area last year as the Shamrocks put up at least 24 points in every game but one and 288 yards of offense per game. Westfield went 11-2 and won a Class 6A regional title.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Kendrick Lamar. If you listen to them in order, Kendrick released like three of them in a day so I’m going to say Kendrick.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I got the game early so I’ve been doing some recruiting. I know a thing or two about it. I’m a three-star but I’m a ‘gem’ so I’m really a four-star. I’d probably say I have the agile archetype so probably agility. Like a solid 95. I’ll be a little humble. Not going to say 99 but I’ll say a 95.”

Why do you wear No. 76? “I always played baseball and was 12 and 3 there. Going into football, I started playing my freshman year. I didn’t really know anything, and I said, ‘I’ll wear No. 3.’ They said, ‘You are a lineman; you can’t wear No. 3.’ So, I’m like alright, ‘What do we got?’ And they gave me 76.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I do meal prep because I’m too tired to do any (cooking) after practice because we’ve been grinding all day. But I’d say a nice breakfast sandwich because we practice in the morning. You got eggs and a sausage patty on a croissant.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He doesn’t coach for us anymore but one of favorites, he was a safety coach for us, every time someone gave up a big play, his name was ‘Coach Shack (Steven Shackelford)’, he would say ‘God bless America!’ It was funny just listening to him on the sideline. It was (directed at) other players, which is what made it so funny.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (13)

WIDE RECEIVERS

Gabe Aramboles, Westfield, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-1, 200-pound Aramboles, a Ball State commit, caught 41 passes for 583 yards and six touchdowns last year and also rushed for 56 yards in 10 games. In 35 total career games, Aramboles has 117 receptions for 1,688 yards and 13 TD receptions.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’m going to plead the fifth on this one. I like them both equally. I didn’t listen to the diss track much because I didn’t want to ruin it for myself, but I like them both.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I feel like I’m an athlete so I can play anywhere. Defense, offense, running back, receiver, safety, corner, I can get it done. I got early access, so I’ve been playing it. I really enjoy the game.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Best thing I’ve watched is probably ‘Game of Thrones.’”

Why do you wear No. 3? “I had a mentor my freshman year, Jackson Wasserstrom, who was No. 3. He meant a lot to me. He took me under his wing as a freshman and showed me things, taught me things. He taught me, led me and made me believe I was better than who I really could be. So, I wanted to kind of carry that legacy for him. That’s the reason I wear No. 3.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I have a private chef – my little brother. Great cook. He’ll make some pancakes, omelet, whatever he wants to throw in there.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “Especially when he wants the DBs to corral the ball and pursue, he always yells, ‘Get a punch, get a rip!’ He’ll be jumping up and down, screaming.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (14)

Davion Chandler, Lawrence North, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-foot, 170-pound Chandler, an Indiana commit, caught 40 passes for 779 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior (19.5 yards per catch). He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and threw a TD pass. Chandler has 62 receptions for 1,068 yards and 14 TD catches overall going into his senior season.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Kendrick. I ain’t going to lie.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I think my best attribute will be spectacular catches. Like freshman year coming in they might do me bad but if they are watching film, they are going to give me like a 93 freshman year. Like a 92, 93. That would be nice.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Probably ‘The Boys’ on Prime Video or ‘Supacell’ on Netflix. That show is nice. I already watched the ‘Receiver’ show on Netflix. Mentality-wise, I liked Amon-Ra St. Brown (of the Detroit Lions). He’s really been grinding since he was like 10. His dad helped him his whole life, but he put in the work.”

Why do you wear No. 8? “When I was 6, I wore No. 4. When I got to 10U, we lost No. 4 (the jersey). So, I was like, ‘I gotta get No. 8.’ Then I had it since then.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “If it’s there, I try to make a Philly cheesesteak in the crib. We have this program in school called McKenzie pathway and I already graduated from culinary arts. We cook every day. So, I know how to cook some stuff.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “‘You have to be tough, man. You have to be tough. Nobody cares in life. Nobody cares. You gotta get it on your own. Nobody cares, I promise you. You are the only one who cares.’ That’s my best impression. ‘Nobody cares.’ That’s what he says all the time.”

For his career, Clark has 84 receptions for 1,515 yards and 27 TD receptions. Dayton, Lindenwood, Tiffin, UIndy and Western Illinois are his current college offers.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Kendrick Lamar. I’m more of a lyrics guy so I gotta go with Kendrick.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “It’s gotta be speed. I’d give it a 97. There’s some guys faster than me but I don’t think there’s too many.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I just started that new ‘Receivers’ show. It’s interesting.”

Why do you wear No. 13? “We had this stud receiver, Anthony Annee, that was 13 before me and he said he wanted the next 13 to be as good as him so I wore it to continue on the legacy of being No. 13. I had 80 before.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “R & R Extreme Wings. Right over there on Michigan Road. It’s so good. You can’t go without it.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He’s an unpredictable guy. You never know what you’re going to get out of coach Geske.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (16)

JonAnthony Hall, Fishers, Sr.

2023 stats: The three-sport star was a state champion as a junior in basketball and track and field. On the football field, the Stanford commit is one of the state’s top receivers. Hall caught 69 passes for 1,055 yards and six touchdowns as a junior and averaged 42.2 yards on nine kickoff returns. He has 80 receptions for 1,317 yards and 11 TDs for his career.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’d probably have to go Drake. I don’t really listen to Kendrick. I do like the battle between them and did think Kendrick did win, though. But I’m still going Drake.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Probably jumping. I just think as far as my leaping ability, I think it’s hard to match. I’d say at least a 90. I think a 90 is good.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I actually started watching ‘Survivor.’ Just kind of going through them all. That was pretty cool. So just watching all the ‘Survivor’ series so far. It’s a lot. I watched (‘Receivers’ series on Netflix). That was really, really cool. Just to kind of see the background on all those guys, especially since I watch them all the time. That was awesome. I kind of like going into the background of Deebo (Samuel) and how they use him. Obviously, Justin Jefferson. He’s such a unique guy, kind of a living by himself in a little smaller house. Kind of keeps to himself. I thought that was pretty cool just with how much money he has and how good he is, you would think he would be living more lavishly, but I kind of like that aspect about him.”

Why do you wear No. 11? “I switched my number from 81. There’s really no story to it, I just think I look good in it. As far as my name goes, the ‘J’ is the 10th letter of the alphabet, and the ‘A’ is the first so I just kind of put it together. That was kind of like a make up story, but I always thought 11 looked good on me for a while so it was cool to finally get it this year.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Probably Little Bites just to get something in my stomach before I actually eat dinner. I like the chocolate chip muffins, so I always eat those. My dad makes good spaghetti, so I tear that up every time.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He always says, ‘Alright guys.’ He just always says, ‘Alright.’ Like, ‘You know, we gotta go out there, alright? And we gotta make these big plays.' Then he says, ‘Playmakers make plays.’ That’s what he tells me all the time. That’s his No. 1 thing that he tells me. That’s just like our little background thing he always brings up. He’s like, ‘Playmakers make plays. Ain’t that right, Jonathan?' That’s all he says. I just say, ‘Playmakers make plays, coach.’”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (17)

Eugene Hilton, Zionsville, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 195-pound Wisconsin commit caught 46 passes for 836 yards and 10 touchdowns and passed for another score as a junior for the Eagles. Overall, Hilton has 96 receptions for 1,443 yards and 15 TD receptions. He averaged 33.5 yards on six kickoff returns last season.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Give me Drake. I love the song ‘Not Like Us’ by Kendrick Lamar but give me Drake.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Definitely catching. For my starting year, probably 89 or 91. Somewhere in there. Room to go up.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I haven’t really watched much recently. I’ve been watching YouTube, watching the new (college football) game. Before it came out, I was watching people play the game and learn some new tricks.”

Why do you wear No. 2? “Originally, I wanted No. 5. But obviously my teammate has that. I wanted No. 11 but a senior had it. It was just kind of the number I had so I’m sticking with it.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Definitely go to Smoothie King and get a smoothie. Then first thing I eat is probably some candy. I’m getting Pineapple Surf at Smoothie King.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He’s always like, ‘Gosh, darn it.’ Anytime something goes wrong, that’s what he says. Keeps it clean.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (18)

Brevin Holubar, Center Grove, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-2, 180-pound Holubar was second on the team behind all-state receiver Noah Coy with 39 receptions for 744 yards and six TDs as a junior. Holubar, also a state champion in the 4x400-meter relay in track and field, had three 100-yard receiving games in his final five games. He has offers from Dayton and Indiana Wesleyan.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’d have to say Drake. I listen to him a little bit more than Kendrick Lamar, so I’ll go with Drake.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? Speed, 99. I’ve played it a little bit – I’m not very good. I play more of like the PGA game, but I play Madden some and play the NCAA game about the same.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Definitely the ‘Receiver’ show on Netflix. I just like how they show the background on what all they do. Just like how fast they practice, how fast they do everything and just like all the preparation that goes into it. I haven’t finished the whole thing, but I’ve watched most of it.”

Why do you wear No. 9? “I actually wear it because of one of our former teammates, Zach Greller. He’s one of my best buddies. He kind of gave it to me and I just stuck with it. He was two years older (Holubar wore 17 previously).”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Probably just what my mom makes for dinner. Just find out what my mom makes for dinner and eat that. Probably lasagna (is the best) with some pasta.

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He always says, ‘You’re not going to the be the biggest, you’re not going to be the fastest, but you’re going to the best conditioned.’ He likes to make us run.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (19)

RUNNING BACKS

Jalen Bonds, Cathedral, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-foot, 205-pound Bonds rushed for 1,194 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior for the Irish, along with catching six passes for 65 yards. In five games as a sophom*ore at Heritage Christian, he ran for 579 yards and six TDs and caught nine passes for 111 yards and two TDs. Bonds has offers from Army, Ball State, Miami (Ohio), Toledo and Western Michigan.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I’m team Kendrick. I used to be team Drake, but Kendrick is just too good. He’s elite. His word play, flow. I like more of his albums. I would say rapping, Kendrick, and R&B, Drake. But overall, Kendrick.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Probably truck. I’d say truck or maybe awareness. As a freshman, I’d go 85. As a senior, 99.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “Best thing I’ve watched recently is probably ‘Snowfall.’ It’s a show on Hulu that takes place in the early to mid-80s. it’s about this kid from California who is a drug lord but it’s really good and very action packed. It’s suspenseful, probably my favorite show. If you look online, it’s actually a top-10 show of all-time. So, if you want to watch ‘Snowfall’ watch ‘Snowfall’ it’s really good.”

Why do you wear No. 3? “It was the only single digit they had. It was between No. 4, No. 22 and No. 3. I wore No. 4 at Heritage Christian, and I wore No. 22 last year so I just wanted to switch it up. Last year it was Zach Meeks who had No. 3.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Something my dad cooks. On Monday, he made chili. Or takeout. My job is to pick up the food. Probably my favorite food is chicken parmesan. Every time I see chicken parmesan when I come home, it’s been a good day.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “(Laughs). I can’t really say what he says.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (20)

Joliba Brogan, Mt. Vernon, Sr.

2023 stats: The 5-8, 185-pound Brogan rushed for 1,733 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior for the Marauders and caught 12 passes for 124 yards. The speedster also returned a kickoff for a touchdown. Brogan has an offer from St. Francis.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Kendrick all the way, 100 percent. Drake is losing the battle, too, I’m not going to lie. Kendrick is a lot better to listen to, too.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I think mine would be toughness. I go through the trenches. I think like 95. I think I’m pretty mentally tough. Agility, I think I’d be up there, too. I think my attribute would be like 92. I think I’m pretty quick.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “‘Cobra Kai.’ I know I’m a little late, but I think it’s one of the top shows on Netflix.”

Why do you wear No. 30? “No real big story. I got it sophom*ore year. Nobody really thought I was going to play so I kind of just picked the number and it sat with me. I really like it but there’s no real big story on 30. I was 20 my freshman year because of Barry Sanders. That’s what I really want but somebody already had it. But going forward, I think 20 will be my number. That’s the number I’d stick with because of Barry Sanders.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Whatever my mom would cook at home. I ask her, ‘What are we going to eat?’ And that’s it. If not, it would probably be a peanut butter and jelly. That’s the go-to right there if she doesn’t cook. But she makes some good chicken alfredo.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “If you do something wrong, he’ll be like, ‘Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh, stop. Oh my gosh, what are you doing?’ He has like a weird tone. He’s funny sometimes.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (21)

Jeremiah Lee, Beech Grove, Sr.

Lee has 2,552 rushing yards and 33 TDs and 373 receiving yards and three TDs for his career. He has offers from Army, Illinois State and UIndy.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? I don’t really listen to Drake or Kendrick. I’ll take YoungBoy.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “The 360 badge that (Oklahoma State running back) Ollie Gordon and the Ohio State running back have, the 360 ability, I’d definitely have that. That spin move is insane (Michigan and Army are his teams he uses).

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I don’t watch much TV, but I watch a lot of YouTube. I watch fishing videos. I’m a fisherman, so I watch a lot of videos. (I fish for) bass all day. If I’m feeling a slow day, I’ll throw some catfish rigs out there. I learn what they use, I go out and try it and catch a lot of fish.”

Why do you wear No. 29? “It just feels fast to me. I love the number when I put it on. Also, I don’t see many people wearing 29 so I think it’s kind of unique.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Whatever mom makes. She usually makes some good protein. She’ll make some protein and vegetables for me. And I’ll definitely make a smoothie. Pineapples, bananas, mangos. I like a lot of tropical fruits so I’m always going to put some pineapples and mangos in.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “Any time any small thing goes wrong it’s, ‘On the line, we’re running a gasser.’ After Whiteland scrimmage we ran a gasser. In front of all the other teams we’re running gassers down and back. Everyone was like, ‘What are they doing?’ We were tired after that. We could barely make it to the bus. It was hilarious.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (22)

Izayveon Moore, Lawrence North, So.

2023 stats: The 5-9, 175-pound Moore was the rare freshman to make a splash in Class 6A as he rushed for 1,127 yards and nine TDs and caught four passes for 51 yards and another score. Lawrence North was 6-1 when Moore rushed for more than 100 yards.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I don’t really listen to either one but I’d choose Drake.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Breakaway speed. Like a 94.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I don’t really watch TV. I’d say film. I watch the whole team. See what’s going on at practice with the offensive line and see what we can work on so I can come in and tell the coach and get us together.”

Why do you wear No. 3? “My brother wore 2 so I wear 3. Closer number to him.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I usually have dinner after practice. Fried chicken, spaghetti (is my favorite).”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “Every time he sees me, he’ll say, ‘What’s up little bro?’ and smack me on the shoulder.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (23)

Alijah Price, Ben Davis, Sr.

In three seasons, the uncommitted Price has 2,281 rushing yards and 27 rushing TDs and 52 receptions for 450 yards and five TDs. He has offers from Marian and UIndy, among others.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I have to go Kendrick.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Probably agility. I’d probably say 92. I could work with 92.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “‘Your Honor’ on Netflix. It’s a good show.”

Why do you wear No. 21? “Because of (NFL Hall of Fame running back) LaDainian Tomlinson. He was one of my favorite running backs growing up.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Banana. I usually eat before, so I go home, eat a banana and make sure I got it in my system.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “That’s hard because he’s a crazy guy. He’s always loud. I can’t really think of anything in particular, but one funny thing is if you text him something he’ll probably go completely off topic and send a whole paragraph or whole story about something else. That’s just something about him.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (24)

Darrell Taylor, Crispus Attucks, Jr.

2023 stats: The 5-8, 200-pound Taylor put his speed and power on display last season as he rushed for 2,111 yards and 23 touchdowns and caught eight passes for 170 yards and two TDs. Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Neither. I don’t really get into them like that.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Acceleration. Or speed or spin.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I don’t really watch shows like that but ‘Lucifer’ probably on Netflix.”

Why do you wear No. 28? “All the great running backs wear ’28.’ Such as JT, Jonathan Taylor. He inspires me a lot. He’s one of (my favorites). He’s up there. Bo Jackson. He inspired me a lot, too.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “A lot. Pork chops.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “‘Discipline. Gotta have discipline. You can’t cheat the game. It will catch up to you.’”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (25)

Slate Valentine, Whiteland, Sr.

2023 stats: The 5-9, 170-pound Valentine is the state’s leading returning rusher. He rushed for 1,940 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, helping the Warriors to a 7-5 record and Class 5A sectional championship. For his high school career, Valentine has 2,534 rushing yards and 28 rushing TDs.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Probably Kendrick. I don’t listen to either one that much but after (the feud) probably Kendrick.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “Probably juking. I’m tiny so that’s all I have. So, I’d say juking is probably my highest attribute. I’ll take juking over speed. Since we run all up the middle I gotta find a way to get into open space where I can use the speed. I don’t want to be too greedy. Probably like a 90 (for juking).

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I don’t watch that much (TV or Netflix). I would say ‘Outer Banks’ if anything.”

Why do you wear No. 21? “Ever since my brother graduated high school – he graduated four years ago – he passed it down to my other brother, then it got passed down to me. I’ve been 21 ever since sixth grade year. It’s just the Valentines’ number at Whiteland I guess.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Well, my mom is always cooking something so probably hamburgers. Bacon hamburgers my dad makes on the grill. My mom makes macaroni and cheese. My favorite is to come home to bacon burgers.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He’s usually screaming across the field at the o-linemen. I’m usually not over there. I’m not around him. But usually, I hear him when he comes up to me like when I fumble the ball and he just gives me the death stare and just walks off. I already know he’s going to talk to me later about it but that’s about it. Usually if I get to the sideline, I’m trying to find a way around him. I’m going straight to the water.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (26)

TIGHT ENDS

Aiden Brewer, Noblesville, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-4, 220-pound Bowling Green recruit caught 22 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. In his three seasons for the Millers, Brewer has 42 catches for 790 yards and five TDs. He is also a key player for Noblesville’s basketball team, averaging 3.5 points and 3.0 rebounds as a junior.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “Drake. One hundred percent Drake. Kendrick has some good hits, but I just like Drake better.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I would probably say blocking as a tight end. As the offense we run, I block a lot. I would say the number probably wouldn’t be high coming out as a freshman, so I’d probably say 78 or 75, something like that. Work my way up.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I’ve really been into ‘House of Dragons’ on HBO Max. I’ve watched ‘Game of Thrones.’ That’s probably my favorite TV show of all time and ‘House of Dragons’ is up there.

Why do you wear No. 2? “I wore No. 2, to be honest, because I thought No. 2 looks cool. I was watching college football players like, ‘Ooh, that looks cool. I’ll wear No. 2.’ But I used to play basketball and baseball before I played football, and I wore ’24.’ I said, ‘I’m not going to wear ‘24’ on the football field, playing tight end.’ So, I just took the first number of ’24’ and just stuck with ‘2.’ My freshman year I was ’84’ but I didn’t get to pick my number then. Ever since my sophom*ore year I’ve been No. 2. Basketball I’m ’22.’”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “My mom is probably cooking something. My favorite meal she cooks is probably her baked spaghetti. Her baked spaghetti is very, very good.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He has this face where he like grabs his head when there’s something he sees, or he missed a call or something and he grabs his head and just starts like gritting his teeth together. He’s creative. He has a lot of lines, too. He does his little run, too, that I think is hilarious. But I love him. He’s a creative guy.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (27)

Nizyi Davis, Lawrence Central, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-6, 215-pound Wisconsin commit saw his junior season cut short due to an ACL injury that also cost him his basketball season. In the eight games he was able to play, Davis caught 29 passes for 410 yards and one touchdown. He picked the Badgers over offers from Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Duke, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan State and others.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I really don’t listen to either, honestly. But I’ll say Drake, though. I don’t listen to Kendrick Lamar. I’ll say Drake.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I’d probably have catching. I’d probably have the badge because you need two people on me at all times. Hopefully I’d have like a 95 at least.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? I’ve been watching ’13 Reasons Why.’ I don’t know why. I just got into that though. I’ve just been bored watching it. It’s cool, though. I like it.”

Why do you wear No. 7? “I’ve been wearing 7 since I was a little kid. Before I was 7, I was 87. I always had in my heart that I was 7. At the casino it’s ‘7-7-7’ at the slot (machine). Always open.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “Fried chicken, mashed potatoes. Something like that. I eat a lot, too. After that I’ll eat some cereal or something. I eat a lot.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “That I’m not working hard enough. He always tells me I’m not working hard enough and keeps pushing me and tells me not to settle for just where I’m at. He pushes me to go harder. It’s helpful. Because even when I’m doing good, he always encourages me to do better, and I really appreciate it.”

IndyStar football preseason Super Team: Meet 2024's top offensive playmakers, gamebreakers (28)

Harrison Forestal, Bishop Chatard, Sr.

2023 stats: The 6-3, 220-pound Forestal had a big season for the Trojans with 46 catches for 434 yards to help Chatard to a Class 3A state championship and 15-0 record. He has offers from Dayton, DePauw and Wabash.

Drake or Kendrick Lamar? “I would say Drake but Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ song is pretty good.”

The new NCAA college football video game came out recently. What would be your best attribute on the game? “I would say catching and probably like mid-80s. I don’t want to be too generous. Maybe a little lower.”

What is your favorite thing you have watched recently? “I’ve been watching ‘Suits’ a lot. Or the ‘Receiver’ show with George Kittle. I like learning about him because he’s a tight end like me. I’m about halfway through. I’ve known about (Kittle), but I haven’t kept up with him as much as like Travis Kelce. But now that he’s in the spotlight with Travis Kelce, I’ve got to learn more about him. I like how he’s gritty. He’ll go block but he can also break a tackle downfield and he does all the dirty work.”

Why do you wear No. 27? “I played travel lacrosse growing up and they gave me 27. Then freshman football they gave me 27 and I kind of just stuck with it.”

What is the first thing you eat when you get home from football practice? “I love my peanut butter and jellys. I eat so many of those before practice and after. In film I have a lunchbox with me. I get made fun of but it’s worth it.”

Can you do an impression of your coach or is there anything he says a lot? “He talks about how he wants people in his foxhole and people he can trust. He wants people to go battle on Friday nights and trust you are going to do your assignment right and give your best effort.”
